Late last night, POLITICO released a leaked draft majority opinion from the Supreme Court in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.

The draft opinion shows the elimination of the constitutational right to abortion established nearly 50 years ago by Roe.

This is a real threat to fundamental rights, and the conservative majority of the Supreme Court isn’t likely to change their mind. It’s the clearest sign yet that the Court is poised to strip away the fundamental right to an abortion. This is a call to action.

If this decision goes into effect and overturns Roe, 26 states are certain or likely to ban abortion — impacting more than 36 million people and leaving them without abortion access.

It’s moments like these when community is most important. That’s why I’m asking you to turn your generosity toward the groups working on the ground to reduce barriers to abortion access.

This is an unconscionable attack on reproductive health, and I’m going to fight like hell in the Senate to protect the rights afforded to all of us by the Constitution — that includes abolishing the filibuster and voting on the Women’s Health Protection Act.
