John,
By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news. A leaked draft decision shows that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade. If true, this is among the Supreme Court’s most disgusting decisions in history.
Overturning Roe v. Wade would be a direct attack on bodily autonomy and on the lives of millions— and we know the court won’t stop there.
Here at home, we need to do what we can to protect and expand access to abortion care to accommodate increased demand as a result of this decision and ensure that Massachusetts is a safe haven for people seeking abortion care from other states.
Abortion is still legal right now. But we must mobilize to support the activists and organizations doing the work to protect and expand abortion care.
That’s why I’m asking you personally if you will give to the National Network of Abortion Funds right now. 100% of your contribution goes directly to their efforts.

John, as a co-founder of the Third Wave and Freedom Summer 1992 — which stood up for reproductive rights — it is especially brutal to watch these rights being rolled back by an out-of-touch, extremist wing of the Supreme Court and by state legislatures across the country.
In Massachusetts, organizations like Reproductive Equity Now, Planned Parenthood, and reproductive justice activists across the state built the pressure for the state legislature to pass the Roe Act, which codified abortion rights into law.
That was a huge win — but we can’t stop fighting here in Massachusetts and across the country.
Abortion funds are critical arms of support for people seeking out abortion care, especially in states where reproductive rights are under constant attack. Black, brown, LGBTQIA+, and low-income people already have a more difficult time even accessing this care. Abortion funds help bridge that gap.
Reproductive justice is racial, economic, and gender justice.
The National Network of Abortion Funds supports abortion funds across the country. It is absolutely critical to support their work. Please consider supporting them with a contribution today.
Now more than ever, we need an experienced Attorney General to protect and build upon and expand abortion rights. I promise you that I will never back down from that fight.
In solidarity,
Shannon
