The death penalty has no place in a just society.
[ [link removed] ]Add your name to become a grassroots co-sponsor of my legislation to end the
death penalty.
The death penalty is a cruel, unjust practice that has no place in our
society. That’s why, earlier this year, I introduced legislation to end
the death penalty and why I reiterated that call as part of the People’s
Justice Guarantee, which lays out a blueprint for dismantling and
transforming our criminal injustice system.
But I need you with me in this fight for justice.
The only way we will make progress on this vitally important issue is by
raising our collective voices and demanding an end to this draconian
punishment.

the federal level. Together we can end this cruel practice.

Just a few days ago, a man named Rodney Reed was scheduled to be executed
by the state of Texas. Rodney Reed has been living in a 6x9 cell for 23
hours a day for 22 years.
No weapon was found. No forensics implicated him. None of his witnesses
were called. No jury of his peers. And yet, he was sentenced to death.
His life was spared not thanks to the courts or the courage of lawmakers,
but thanks to the activists from across the country who took action and
shined a light. Because of them, Rodney Reed now has the chance to prove
his innocence.
That is the kind of power our collective voices have. We can make real
change when we fight together against injustice.

Thank you for all you do to power our movement. I am so grateful to have
your support.
In solidarity,
