Hi John,
This is it, folks. A mobilizing moment has arrived. ALL HANDS ON DECK! Remember, the leaked Supreme Court opinion that would decimate abortion access is only a draft. But we must organize a strong backlash.
Activists are already on the steps of the Supreme Court, and there will be speeches and actions starting at 5 PM. We need Supreme Court Justices to look out the window and be absolutely overwhelmed at the public backlash. Can you be a part of that?
Reply to this email if you plan to be there today!
The leaked opinion overturning Roe has confirmed everything we knew about this Court's intentions, and we will take to the streets to show how strong our movement is. We will not stand by as the constitutional right to abortion is obliterated.
- In D.C., we are calling on supporters to
occupy the steps outside of SCOTUS from 8 AM to 8 PM TODAY,
Tuesday, May 3. Get there as soon as you're able and stay as long as you can. Bring friends. Be aware that anti-abortion organizers are there too, but our movement is strong and united. We are ready to chant so loudly they hear us across the capital region.
We're also asking you to share accurate information on your social media. What you post should fall into two categories:
- This decision is not final, and as of now abortion is still legal — in fact, we do not expect the Supreme Court to suddenly declare abortion is illegal everywhere, but they are poised to radically alter abortion access. Abortion clinics and funds are open and ready to support patients in every state. To find a clinic in the US, go to www.ineedana.com. If you need help funding an abortion, go to AbortionFunds.org
- If this draft turns out to be the final decision, it will be devastating. It will eviscerate abortion access in half the country. Just look at how many states could ban or severly limit abortion here. We cannot let that happen.

We will not let abortion access become a thing of the past, no matter what the Court ultimately decides. We will continue to fight the restrictions and to center the needs of young people, particularly youth of color, gender-expansive youth, and youth from low-income communities. We will expand our efforts to build our Youth Abortion Support Collective (YouthASC) into a strong, wide and deep network, currently 600+ strong that stretches from coast to coast.
But young people cannot do it alone. We need everyone to join the fight at every level.
In Solidarity,
