The Supreme Court is almost certainly poised to overturn Roe v. Wade!
In a draft majority opinion obtained by Politico, the Supreme Court writes that “we hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
Look — a person’s right to make their own reproductive decisions is an issue of freedom. Abortion is health care and the government has no place getting in between women and their doctors.
We must protect reproductive freedom — which is why I support the Women’s Health Protection Act — a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade into law.
While we wait for the SCOTUS ruling to take effect, draconian laws targeting reproductive healthcare are cropping up all over the country — including here in Florida. My opponent, Jackie Toledo, co-sponsored the FL bill that bans abortion even in cases of rape or incest.
The GOP is now the party of forced birth that puts the rights of rapists ahead of the rights of women. It cannot be overstated how extreme this position is, and we must fight back against this heinous movement.
In Congress, I will be a staunch defender of a person’s right to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions.
