I can’t believe that I have to say this, but it’s official: the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade and end over 50 years of federal constitutional protection for abortion.
The GOP has set the stage to make abortion effectively illegal in Wisconsin as our law here reverts to a prolife statute, but we have time to act — it’s going to be up to leaders like Tom Nelson to abolish the filibuster and codify Roe v. Wade before it’s too late.
Ron Johnson thinks that we intend to “fundamentally transform” America, but in truth, it’s Ron and the GOP that are trying to undo 50 years of progress for reproductive rights. We need to fight harder than ever before to make sure we never see a post-Roe America.
If we can’t rely on SCOTUS to protect the right to choose, we need to elect leaders like Tom who will codify Roe v. Wade and make sure no woman ever has to worry about losing access to reproductive rights in the United States.
