John,

Last night, the contents of a draft majority opinion from the Supreme Court was leaked. As it stands in this draft, the Supreme Court is set to end the constitutional right to an abortion -- leaving it up to state legislatures to determine the right to a safe, legal abortion. This is gut-wrenching.

John, let’s be clear: Abortion is still legal. This is only a draft of a decision we expect next month. This draft confirms what we anticipated. The anti-choice Supreme Court is prepared to strip away bodily autonomy and any trust of individuals to make their own health decisions.

But we are organized and ready to fight back. While the anti-choice movement will use this to justify their strength, we are mobilizing to demonstrate ours. The best way you can do that right now is by finding a pro-choice woman candidate to support. We’ve endorsed more than 80 pro-choice women so far this cycle -- women who will be fierce, steadfast advocates for reproductive rights as lieutenant governor, state auditor, members of Congress, state senators, and state representatives.

We know that abortion bans disproportionately impact people of color, people in rural communities, and people who cannot afford to travel. Our truth is that where you live or how much money you have should not determine whether you are able to access safe, legal abortions.

That is why we are proud to have endorsed these candidates, each of whom are individuals who have and will continue to champion the right to safe, legal abortions. And will make sure Minnesotans’ voices - a pro-choice majority - are represented.

The 2022 Midterm Elections will determine reproductive rights for generations to come, from the governor’s mansion to the state legislature. And we must elect our best advocates who are ready to protect those rights.

Thank you for your commitment to electing pro-choice champions. This work would not be possible without you.

In gratitude,

Marnie K. Wells
Interim Executive Director
