Team,

I was gravely concerned last night to see the breaking news that the Supreme Court is likely about to overturn Roe v. Wade.

I want to update you on what’s happened so far, and what we can do next.

The document that leaked is a draft majority opinion. The Supreme Court has not formally announced a decision on the case and could still change their minds.

But even if and when the Supreme Court overturns Roe, our fight is not over. We can pass legislation at the state and federal level that will protect abortion access.

Please chip in $5 today so that our campaign can support pro-choice candidates in Virginia and around the country who will vote to protect abortion access. [link removed]

Everyone deserves the right to make their own reproductive health decisions. The decision to have an abortion should be made without interference from politicians – or from extremists on the Supreme Court.

But if this decision stands, states will again be able to make abortion illegal. We need strong pro-choice leaders in Virginia who will protect abortion access in our state, no matter what the Court decides. We can also pass federal legislation to protect abortion rights – but we need more pro-choice senators to make it happen.

I will do everything I can in the Senate and in Virginia to protect access to abortion. But we also need to fight at the ballot box to elect more allies who can join us.

Chip in $5 now so we can work to keep abortion legal in Virginia and throughout the country. [link removed]

Thank you,

Mark
