We just heard that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
This destroys decades of precedent and is a full-on assault on our freedoms. The extreme, right-wing majority on our nation’s highest court is determined to take us backwards – we cannot let that happen.
Let’s be honest about this stunning decision: desegregation of schools (Brown v. Board of Education), gay marriage (Obergefell v. Hodges), interracial marriage (Loving v. Virginia), and other fundamental rights are now in danger. This is a threat to the health, safety, economic security, and basic freedoms that we cherish as Americans.
Congress must act IMMEDIATELY to protect our constitutional right to abortion. We must act now to protect the health and freedom of women across our nation – add your name if you agree:
States will now be allowed to entirely ban abortion, and women will no longer have safe and legal access to the reproductive health care they need.
As a proud leader in the Pro-choice Caucus, the first Black woman to represent Washington state, and the first Korean-American woman elected to Congress as a Democrat, I’m dedicated to ensuring that our basic rights are protected.
