Last night’s leaked document confirmed what we had feared: that the Supreme Court will almost certainly end abortion protections and strike down Roe v. Wade.

This is appalling and dangerous. Women's right to an abortion and freedom to make choices about their own bodies must be protected.

It is more critical than ever that we defeat anti-choice Republicans like Elise Stefanik.

The most effective way to fight back against this likely ruling is to pass federal legislation to codify the right to an abortion. The House passed legislation doing exactly that last year—and Elise Stefanik voted against it. Elise Stefanik does not support women’s freedom to make choices about their own bodies.

In fact, an anti-choice group gave Stefanik an A+ because of her commitment to restrict access to abortions on the federal level. She’s also used her enormous war chest to elect anti-choice candidates across the country.

We will fight this, and we will not give up. I will always stand up for reproductive freedom and abortion access.
