Overturning Roe v Wade isn’t about me. It’s about all of us. I don’t have to tell you how important access to safe abortion is, and I don’t have to tell you what it means to women across the country with regard to our personal reproductive rights. What I will tell you is this - the highest court in the land seems poised to send a signal to women across the country that we’re not full citizens, that we don’t have rights to our own bodies, that government should be able to inject itself into the doctor-patient relationship. Where that ends, well, that’s a scary thought, but this is how it begins.

When I go to Congress, I’ll fight until I drop to codify Roe v Wade and ensure that all women have access to safe abortions. But you already know that. My voting record in the state senate has proven it. I have a track record of standing up to Republicans on this issue. So today, I’m not asking you to donate to me; I’m asking you to consider making a donation to Emily's List, the largest support of pro-choice, female candidates in the country.

When Roe v Wade is kicked back to the states, I can assure you that the extreme Republican legislatures across the country will move swiftly to attempt to pass Texas-style legislation. As a State Senator, you can count on my vote against any legislation that limits access to abortion, and we can uphold a veto. But, there are so many other states that can’t say the same. Donating to Emily’s List will help us elect pro-choice Democratic women up and down the ballot across the country to ensure that we are able to fight back at every level of government.
