John, I’m overwhelmed. I know first hand that the Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade is a life and death matter.
I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2021.
With my husband and doctors at my side, I made the difficult, necessary decision to abort the pregnancy. It was my only hope to continue living and ultimately be in the joyful position I am today, pregnant with my daughter.
I felt tragedy and fear at every corner, grieving the miscarriage we had already suffered, and paying thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for proper treatment.
And yet, despite the pain and horrific trauma of this experience, I am one of the fortunate. I had access to doctors, health insurance, and a supportive partner who respects my right to control my own body — and I had the legal right to determine my own destiny.
I refuse to give in to despair at this moment. We need leaders in Congress who know first hand what is at stake and who will fight to codify the legal right to abortion in this country.
I refuse to let outside spending keep me from winning and becoming that leader in just 14 days, but I cannot do this alone. So I’m asking, if you agree, please join us and support my campaign at this critical moment >>
In solidarity,
Nida Allam
