This is a somber moment for America. But not one to shy away from taking action.
Last night, Politico reported that the Supreme Court has privately voted to strike down Roe v. Wade once and for all.
Our fundamental rights are under attack by the far-right majority on the Court. That is why, last year, I introduced the Judiciary Act, a bill to expand the Supreme Court by four seats so that it accurately reflects America, because Americans support reproductive freedom. We can — and must — take this action.
Please help me convince my colleagues to abolish the filibuster so that we can pass the Judiciary Act and the Women's Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe. It is an unfortunate fact about our politics that public opinion is often ahead of where Congress is on any given issue. This is too important to wait.
Since even before Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation, I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to expand the Supreme Court and save our democracy from the far-right and their anti-democratic agenda.
I will not stop fighting until balance is restored to our nation’s highest court.
