2022 General Assembly session saw fewer bills
 pass but greater progress made

During the 2022 General Assembly session (Jan. 12 – March 12), fewer bills crossed the finish line than in recent years. From the standpoint of Virginia Catholic Conference advocacy, however, a greater number of issues had favorable results. And even on many of the issues that did not end favorably, progress was made.

Our newly available vote report shows key outcomes and the corresponding votes cast by each legislator. It also features a special section explaining “highly unusual” actions on two bills.

Take a look to see how your state senator and delegate voted. Not sure who your state legislators are? Use the Find Your Legislator feature here.

Please share our vote report with family members, friends, fellow parishioners and anyone else who would be interested in learning what legislation passed and failed and how their legislators voted!

In prayer and in public, your voices are urgently needed to bring Gospel values to bear on vital decisions being made by those who represent you.
