Since the war broke out in Ukraine in February 2022, Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights has quickly responded, awarding rapid response grants to feminist activists in need ([link removed]) . In the last two months, we’ve awarded over $1 million in urgent response funding, and made nearly 70 grants.

Feminist activists and organizations are using the funding to help women experiencing sexual violence, providing transgender folks with hormone therapy and support, assisting with emergency shelter and evacuation, and getting food, water, medicine, and other necessities into the hands of Ukrainian people.

This rapid response has been made possible by the generous outpouring of support and donations we received, as well as our connections and advisors in Ukraine and beyond who have helped direct funds to those in need.
