According to an extraordinary leaked draft opinion reported by Politico, the right-wing Supreme Court could be just weeks away from overturning Roe Vs. Wade, ending the constitutional right for women to have an abortion in America.
Make no mistake, if Roe is overturned, there could be extreme consequences for women in Michigan and across our country.
Women could once again be criminalized for making health care choices that are best for themselves and their families.
Today is a hard day, but we can't give up hope. Now more than ever we need to do everything in our power to support leaders and elected officials who will defend reproductive freedom and women's right to make health care decisions about their bodies.
In Michigan, that means taking back the State Legislature from the radical Michigan GOP and sending Governor Whitmer back to Lansing for a second term.
In Congress, that means keeping our majority in the U.S. House and expanding our Senate majority so we can pass the Women's Health Protection Act, a bill that would make reproductive freedom a federal law, no matter what the Supreme Court decides.
I'm ready to work my heart out every single day between now and November to make all that happen and I need you fighting by my side.
