I’m struggling to put my thoughts together as I write this, team, but I’ll try.
Earlier tonight, I learned that the U.S. Supreme Court intends to overturn Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the landmark decisions that affirm the Constitutional protection of a woman’s reproductive freedom in America. In its draft opinion, the Court announced it will instead allow states to decide which rights women should have.
Let me repeat: States will now decide which rights women are allowed to have.
After centuries of fighting for the fundamental human rights of all people, this country is witnessing an assault on women’s legal rights and on their bodies.
And with the House of Delegates and Governor’s Mansion under GOP control, the Virginia Senate is even more critical now as the xxxxxx protecting women’s rights to safe abortions.
Team, as long as Democrats hold the Senate, we have a way to fight this. But we’re just a single seat from losing our majority to the GOP, and mine is considered one of the most vulnerable in the state. I need your help [[link removed]] to ensure I’m able to protect the right to choose in Virginia.

I hate this, team. Millions of us saw this coming in 2016, and the complacency of naysayers dismissed our concerns. They told us it couldn’t happen--that Roe v. Wade was “settled law,” and that we were overreacting. Well, look where we are now.
