This cannot become the new normal. On #GivingTuesday, it’s up to us to fight back.

Dear John,

We have a moral duty to remember all those who came before us, who were victimized and persecuted just for being Jewish.

Today, however, we must do something even more urgent. We must defend the living—Jews who are increasingly threatened by growing anti-Jewish hate.

Just last month, an AJC survey revealed that nearly 9 in 10 American Jews are deeply concerned about antisemitism and fear it’s getting worse. The situation in other countries is even more grim.

It’s up to us—people like you and me—to fight back. [link removed]

I take this responsibility seriously, and I know that AJC does too. There is no organization better equipped to lead this charge.

It is only with your support that AJC can continue to combat rising antisemitism, take on those who challenge Israel’s legitimacy, and protect our democratic values so we can all live in greater security and peace. [link removed] [link removed] This goal may seem lofty but it’s the lifeblood of AJC, and I see the progress we make every day. It was AJC that confronted escalating hate crimes in the U.S. by mobilizing its faith and ethnic partners to help pass new legislation. It was AJC that inspired the creation of a bipartisan congressional task force for combating antisemitism and recruited most of its members to join.

It was AJC that helped draft the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance Working Definition of Antisemitism and convinced a growing number of European countries to adopt it.

It was AJC that countered the campaign to delegitimize Israel by educating influential leaders, battling BDS, and taking on terrorist groups committed to its destruction.

One week from today is #GivingTuesday, a day for us to support the organizations most important to us. Imagine what the world would be like without AJC. My family and yours would be less safe, Jewish communities in America and across the globe would be less secure, and an essential voice championing democracy would be silent.

Make sure that never happens. Join me in supporting AJC on #GivingTuesday, December 3. [link removed]

Or give right now! Starting today, a generous donor has offered to double any gift you make to AJC, up to $350,000. [link removed]

We have a great responsibility and it’s up to us to fulfill it. Will you rise to the occasion? [link removed] [link removed]

AJC’s mission is to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, and to advance human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world.
