November 26, 2019: The American Automobile Association (AAA) estimates that 55 million Americans are expected to travel by car, plane, train, bus, and cruise ship this holiday weekend.[1]

That total includes 49 million who will travel by car, 4 million by plane, and 2 million in some other manner. That makes for a 1.6 million-person increase from last year, the second-highest since AAA began recording data in 2000.[1]

All that traveling will produce some headaches along the way. More than 368,000 motorists will call AAA for roadside assistance between Wednesday and Sunday. The top reasons for the call are expected to be dead batteries, flat tires, and lockouts.[1]
