We recently uncovered stunning video from a payday lending industry webinar, where executives boasted that their huge contributions to Trump’s re-election campaign bought them access to his administration.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friend,

That headline just screams quid pro quo, don’t you think?

We recently uncovered stunning video from a payday lending industry webinar, where executives boasted that their huge contributions to Trump’s re-election campaign bought them access to his administration. Now we know why Trump’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is proposing to rip away a critical consumer protection from the payday loan debt trap.

These predatory lenders also revealed their plan to drive even more money Trump’s way to guarantee a final payday lending regulation that enriches them at the expense of our most vulnerable communities. It’s so enraging, NowThis made a video featuring the swampiest moments from the webinar that the industry only wanted insiders to see.

Friend, this quid pro quo is just plain wrong. Sign our petition to demand that the Trump administration stop protecting this predatory industry and start doing their job: protecting consumers.

Other “highlights” from the payday lenders’ webinar:

  • One industry insider admitted, “When Trump was elected, the needle moved in our favor -- finally.”

  • That same insider said, “If you need something and we may need something…then it would be good to be able to pick up the phone and call someone that could get the president’s attention.”
We know Trump has a fondness for quid pro quos, but this is ridiculous. The administration is literally peddling policies to the highest bidder.

Will you add your name to our petition? We need to pressure the administration to remember who they’re SUPPOSED to represent: the American people, not payday lending industry donors.
