(TOPEKA, Kan.) – A new Politico report out this morning announced the abortion lobby plans to show up big for Democrat Laura Kelly this year:
“A trio of pro-abortion rights groups is rolling out a $150 million spending plan ahead of the 2022 midterms. The groups — Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and EMILY’s List — will spend the nine-figure investment on paid ads, field programs, messaging research, and polling in nine states, all of which feature top congressional and gubernatorial races this fall. The spending will be spread across offices up and down the ballot, from state legislative races to Senate races, in Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, California, Kansas, and Wisconsin.”
The news comes shortly after the Kansas Department of Health and Environment released new data showing the number of abortions in Kansas increased again under Laura Kelly last year. Kansas has seen an increase of nearly 13.5% in just three years as a result of Kelly’s policies making Kansas the abortion “sanctuary” of the Midwest. Nine hundred thirty-three more abortions were performed last year than in 2019, Laura Kelly’s first year in office.
“Laura Kelly’s abortion lobby donors are rewarding her for using her power in the governor’s office to keep abortion clinics fully operational while shutting down other medical offices, schools, businesses, and churches across the state throughout the pandemic,” said Shannon Pahls, Kansas GOP Executive Director. “Laura Kelly has turned Kansas into a ‘sanctuary’ for late-term abortions all so she can keep the money coming into her campaign from these national abortion advocates.”
