Dear Friends of Grassroots International, A heartfelt thank you to those of you who responded to the email I sent last month introducing myself and asking if you would contribute to Grassroots International’s annual fund! Some of you replied to tell us about what your connection is to Grassroots International and why you give. Others set up meetings with us to learn more about the work we are doing and how you might be able to deepen your support and solidarity. These kinds of connections are so important to us. We are hoping to be able to meet with many more of you in the months ahead; we are in the midst of planning some virtual connection spaces for donors beginning later this Spring. The first will be on our soon-to-be-released report about the incredible work our partners have done throughout the COVID pandemic to support their communities during this time of crisis and continue to build their movements. Stay tuned for more information. If you were not able to respond yet to the request to donate to the Annual Fund, I’d like to ask, Could you please make a donation today to help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 from our online community for our Annual Fund? |

The funds we raise help us continue and deepen our solidarity with grassroots social movements throughout the Global South, including: - Farmers in West Africa resisting land grabs and articulating a vision for food sovereignty based in peasant agroecology.
- People in Palestine who are organizing, in the fact of incredible repression, for their liberation and sovereignty.
- Communities in Puerto Rico organizing for an end to violence against women and gender non-conforming people.
- Indigenous land defenders in Honduras, Brazil, and elsewhere their right to territory, and to live in sacred relationship with the Earth.
- People who have experienced trauma due to systems of oppression centering healing justice in their organizing and developing regenerative ways of being and working.
- Global movements organizing across borders.
Only a tiny percentage of philanthropic dollars in the United States is going to these kinds of grassroots movements in the Global South. We deeply committed to shifting that imbalance, and to moving resources boldly to the frontlines of these movements. Having a strong and broad base of grassroots donors is a critical component of a sustainable movement support organization. We are so grateful to you for your role in helping make our work possible. Thank you for making a donation today, of whatever size is right for you. Warmly, |

P.S. You can read more about some of the grassroots social movement work we supported in 2021 here. In 2022, we are building on this work, deepening our engagement with our donors and movement partners, at the same time as we engage in mindful consolidation and growth. Your support helps make this work possible! |
