I'm not proud of the world my son's inheriting. In West Virginia, death and despair are everywhere. Historic rates of suicide, mental illness, incarceration, and overdose deaths.

But I'm proud of the fight we're fighting.

I'm proud to be associated with the people who are putting their name on the ballot, fighting to win a rigged game. I'm proud of the Hometown Heroes and Apprentices who are organizing wage workers, farmers, unsheltered people, people in recovery, and emergency responders. I'm proud of the Citizen Media makers, who are telling independent, working class stories.
