Today is May Day, when we celebrate the struggles and achievements of workers’ movements across the world. Thanks to unions, we have child labor laws, a weekend, an 8-hour workday, and much more.

But we still have a long way to go. The federal minimum wage hasn’t been raised in over a decade and still sits at $7.25, even though $30 per hour is the bare-minimum living wage across the country. I am the only candidate in this race — and the first Congressional candidate in the country — to call for a $30 minimum wage.

I also support the PRO Act, which would make it easier to organize unions and negotiate first contracts.
