This International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day, we are celebrating the
immigrant workers who help keep our country running, growing, and thriving.
Immigrants lead in our communities, keep us safe, teach our kids, take on
essential jobs and do so much more to strengthen our nation, yet too often are
taken for granted.

Two years ago today, we launched our #ImmigrantsAreEssential narrative and culture project , which has begun the necessary work of changing the way we think about
immigrant communities by amplifying immigrant voices and stories. Since our work
began, the ripple effect has grown wider, with immigrants’ rights organizations,
leaders in the movement, and even members of Congress taking up our rallying
cry.

We know that stories have the power to change minds and move hearts. This week,
we will be sharing powerful stories from immigrant essential workers across the
country. And , as a thank you to being a part of our
movement, we wanted to give you a special sneak preview of one of the stories we are
releasing this week, in partnership with spoken word artist, Rashan Brown, to
celebrate Black immigrant workers in America.
