John,
Investments made by Congress during the pandemic have lowered costs for working people while putting money in our pockets. But those benefits are beginning to run out.
If Congress does not act by the end of the year, 18 million people could lose their health coverage either due to rising premiums or a “frenzied” eligibility process. Low- to middle-income families could be forced to pay more than $1,000 more out of pocket on rising health care premiums alone.
John, chip in $5 today to demand Congress renew health care subsidies and the Medicaid expansion that helped provide health care to millions more Americans than ever before.

According to Families USA, the American Rescue Plan was “monumental, taking the most significant step since (passage of the) ACA to lower the cost of coverage and provide coverage to people without health insurance. As a result, total enrollment in the ACA marketplace is up 2.5 million in 2020, a 20 percent increase.”
But all of that progress could be wiped out in a matter of months.

John,
Nearly 18 million Americans could lose health coverage by the end of this year.
Last spring, when Congress passed the American Rescue Plan, they made health care more affordable and more accessible for low-income and working people, increasing subsidies and expanding Medicaid. In fact, we now have the lowest uninsured rate in our country’s history.
But without action by Congress, those improvements to our health care system will expire in December, increasing Affordable Care Act premiums for low to middle income families (with incomes from about $35,000 to $92,000 for a 3-person family) by more than $1,000 a year.1 And, it will cause major challenges for 80 million people who rely on Medicaid as they must go through a new eligibility redetermination process.
These families are headed for a health care cliff, and Congress must act very soon to protect them. Insurers are required to set their rates well before the December deadline; families will see higher possible rates and decide they cannot afford insurance. Onerous Medicaid changes will start as soon as the Public Health Emergency ends. It is now in place through July 15.
We’re fighting for Congress to renew these health care subsidies that have resulted in millions more people receiving health insurance coverage. We’re fighting to extend Medicaid coverage to 2 million poor adults now left out, and to prevent millions from losing Medicaid.
Donate today to demand Congress act to protect the health care of tens of millions of Americans.
