We just [ [link removed] ]endorsed Congressman Kurt Schrader's progressive opponent in
OR-5, Jamie McLeod-Skinner. PCCC members have already [ [link removed] ]donated thousands
to her campaign.

She's great, and headlines like these made the decision easy.

Democratic Congressman Kurt Schrader (OR-5) defended Donald Trump after
the January 6th insurrection. He even said that Democrats were
"lynching" Trump by impeaching him.

If that's not bad enough, Schrader has also been one of the most
obstructionist corporate Dems in Congress, including opposing a $15
minimum wage and obstructing lower prescription drug prices. He really has
no business calling himself a Democrat at all -- and he has earned the
nickname "the Joe Manchin of the House."

This week, we endorsed his opponent -- Jamie McLeod-Skinner -- and we
would have proudly done so even if she weren't running against the Joe
Manchin of the House! Jamie is a no-nonsense progressive candidate who is
running a smart campaign and providing a roadmap for Democrats everywhere.

[ [link removed] ]Can you chip in to Jamie McLeod-Skinner's campaign for Congress in this
nationally-watched May 17 congressional primary? Voting began this week --
and this is a chance to save the House majority and replace a corporate
Dem with a bold progressive.

ABC News reports: "To the extent that Democratic activists know Schrader’s
name, it’s mainly been for his opposition to progressive priorities that
Biden actually supports. He opposed a $15 minimum wage and a proposal to
contain prescription drug prices, and he initially voted against last
year’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill."

Schrader was also one of the nine Democrats that fought for corporate
interests and watered down the Build Back Better bill last summer.

Jamie McLeod-Skinner is an engineer, attorney, and former union member.
Her mom drove a school bus, taught special ed, and picked fruit in the
summers. She hasn’t forgotten her roots!

Jamie is drawing contrasts with Schrader on Medicare drug price
negotiation, the Build Back Better climate provisions, holding
corporations accountable, student debt relief, banning congressional stock
trading, raising the minimum wage, and union power. Schrader opposes those
things.

Responding to our endorsement yesterday, Jamie stated, "I'm honored to
receive the endorsement of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, a
powerful grassroots organization working to build leadership in Congress
that fights for us. I'm running for Congress to make housing, healthcare
and education affordable, raise the minimum wage, and tackle climate
change. I’m up against Oregon’s version of Joe Manchin, who has taken over
a million dollars in corporate PAC money and is accountable to them, not
us. I'm proud to have the PCCC on our side in this race."

[ [link removed] ]Donate here to Jamie McLeod-Skinner's campaign. The election is May 17,
and early voting is already underway!

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
