Dear Friend,
Today is May Day, one of the few holidays in a year that can be claimed by us—the people. In remembrance of the labor struggle that gave salience to this international day of workers, we'd like to reflect upon our work in this past year, and set ourselves the task to achieve bigger goals toward the next year.
Since last May, we have resumed organizing activities that had been paused by the pandemic. We set up new chapters in Iowa and Canada, and rejuvenated activities in New York City, to name a few. Similarly, our publication has fully resumed the tri-annual print issues and steadily gaining subscribers, as well as significantly increased our reach through special online issues.
Much is to be done, however, to achieve the level of activism and impact that we had in 1969–1989. The project of SftP revitalization is still in its infancy. In the next year, we must continue to grow. In the planning phases are building coalition with the broader Left, at venues such as Socialism 2022, and strengthening theory with practice through engaging Science and Technology Studies.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to get more involved with our projects—of educating, radicalizing, transforming. And thank you for your support, as subscribers, donor, volunteer, or advocate. In appreciation, here, we are offering a 3-year subscription discount. Visit our subscription page and enter the promo code (valid until 5/7): HaymarketSq1887.
Lastly, we hope you and your loved ones have a great holiday.
In solidarity,
Science for the People
