Team -- I wanted to give you an update on some of the ways Republicans have manipulated the redistricting process in key states during this final phase.
➔ On Monday, the Kansas congressional map was struck down as a partisan gerrymander that would unconstitutionally dilute the vote of Black and Hispanic voters in Kansas.
➔ The Ohio Redistricting Commission passed a fourth set of gerrymandered state legislative maps, which the Ohio Supreme Court struck down again. Now federal judges have agreed to step in and intervene if the state doesn’t settle legislative maps in the next few weeks.
➔ Last Friday, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Florida’s gerrymandered congressional map into law -- but the good news is, the movement for fair maps is already challenging this extremely gerrymandered map congressional map.
The theme in recent updates? Each time Republicans manipulate the maps, they are faced with accountability. And that wouldn’t be possible without voters who were willing to challenge gerrymandered maps in court.Will you make a donation to help fuel this movement for fair maps?
