John —

We’ve got incredible news: For the first time in four years, six critically endangered red wolves were born in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina!

You read that right. Unlike other wolves who’ve been unnaturally introduced to the area in recent years, this litter came into the wild the old-fashioned way as the first wild-born litter since 2018.

This marks a remarkable comeback for an animal that had been so close to extinction. After decades of overhunting, habit destruction, and mating with their natural enemy – the coyote – these new members of the red wolf population are evidence that recovery programs are finally seeing the species turn around.

SEEC members are fighting every day to save hundreds of species from extinction. Can you chip in today to support their work to preserve endangered species like red wolves? [[link removed]]

Efforts to preserve their dwindling numbers date back to the Jimmy Carter era when the Interior Department rescued the last genetically pure red wolves from a population crushed by government-sanctioned hunting.

A few weeks back, Biden’s Department of Interior undertook efforts to begin restoring the red wolf population back into the wild, releasing five wolves from captivity into a remote area of the wildlife refuge, leading to the wonderful news of six pups being born. This has only been possible thanks to the tireless efforts of SEEC Members fighting against those who have sought to undermine the Endangered Species Act.

We need to ensure red wolves and other endangered species continue to have allies in Congress. Can you donate to support our efforts to save Red wolves and other critically endangered species? [[link removed]]
