Republican AGs across the country are campaigning for the support of a Florida man whose primary policy interests are Diet Coke, golfing, and actively undermining democracy.
We’re seeing GOP candidates running for attorney general in 10 of the states that attempted to overturn President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win. If these candidates win, they will be in a position to once again interfere in the 2024 presidential election.
To put it mildly, this situation is less than ideal.
And while there’s nothing we can do to prevent Republican AGs from chasing Donald Trump down his far-right rabbit hole, there is plenty we can do to prevent them from holding office in the first place.
Donald Trump has put his support behind Republican State Attorneys General that have endorsed the Big Lie and made it clear that their belief in Donald Trump’s America is more deeply held than their belief in American democracy.
While Republican AGs continue to be motivated by their desire to play 18 holes at Mar-a-Lago, our Dem AGs continue to put our communities and our democracy first.
