Pray for the resilience and strength of IJM staff in Romania so that they will be able to give their best in support of the Ukrainian refugees who are escaping across the border, taking action to protect them from trafficking risks. Pray also for our partners who provide basic assistance to refugees in the form of accommodation, medicine, legal counseling, food and other necessities. Pray that our collaborative efforts would provide safety, protection and a sense of wellbeing to those who are fleeing conflict.
Latin America
The Latin America Region has reason to praise and pray as we engage in the Global Prayer Gathering as a team this weekend. Since COVID began, it has been impossible to unite as a team of individuals from various offices, so any team gatherings are a big blessing! We are praising God for the opportunity to be together, and we are praying for safety, health and no-travel complications due to COVID testing.
South Asia
Please pray for extreme weather patterns in South Asia that can leave families vulnerable to human trafficking. If crops fail during the current season of intense heat or in the upcoming season of monsoon rains, families without income may be tricked into leaving home for other jobs—which makes them prime targets for human traffickers. Pray for a good climate and safe communities where families can stay safe from these risks.
Southeast Asia
Praise God that the Philippine Leadership Team was able to physically meet together on April 20 for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic! Pray that they will be able to continue to meet and collaborate as they discuss important issues vital to the rescue of victims.
