I know we've sent you a number of emails about our ambitious November goal, so I wanted to take a moment to talk about why this deadline and these emails are so important for our campaign.

This week's end-of-month deadline is our most important deadline so far. With less than 100 days to go, we need to scale up our ground game and make sure we have the resources to compete with Henry Cuellar's multimillion-dollar war chest.

In order to do that, we need to hit our November goal.

We're not taking a dime of corporate PAC money. This campaign is funded by the people. Lots and lots of supporters like you chipping in whatever they can afford to.

So we need lots of donations in the next few days to hit our goal. That's why emails like this one are so important. This may surprise you, but the overwhelming majority of our donations come in response to these emails.

All of these donations add up -- big time. None of what we achieve would be possible otherwise, which is why I need to ask:

Will you make a donation to our campaign right now? Most people give about $30, but whatever you can afford would go a long way for a grassroots campaign like ours.

Running a grassroots campaign isn't just the right thing to do, but it's key to our success. Together, we will win and finally elect a real Democrat in South Texas.
