John,

If you've seen the movie Grease and remember the iconic race
down Thunder Road, you've seen the Los Angeles River. Funneled
into a broad concrete channel, crossed by the 710 Freeway, and cut off
from most residents by a wall of industrial infrastructure, today the
river is more of an afterthought than asset, more obstacle than open
space.

With our partners, Trust for Public Land is working to transform the
7-acre area in the City of South Gate into a community-driven open
space project. The Urban Orchard project will fill a critical need,
not only providing access to green space for a densely populated urban
community, but it will also improve water quality, provide habitat for
fish and other wildlife, and increase climate sustainability through
additional tree cover and native shrubs.

This project, like so much of our work, depends on people like you
joining Trust for Public with a membership gift. And it's why
it's so important that we take advantage of this limited-time
triple match offer.

Please give today when your membership gift of $25 will grow to $75. Your donation of $35 will become $105. And your $50 contribution will triple to $150.

Unfortunately, John, too many
people in the United States lack ready access to parks. In fact, 100
million people, including 28 million children, do not have access to a
park within a 10-minute walk from home. Trust for Public Land believes
every person, in every community, should have access to safe, free,
quality outdoor space to connect with nature and other people.

Your gift will help us create more parks like Urban Orchard and protect land in
communities that need them most. So please help us take advantage of
this wonderful opportunity! Time is running out, so act quickly.
