============================================================

Sadly, our newsroom is saying farewell to our assistant editor, Jeff Benzing, who has been a critical part of steering the organization to new levels over the last eight years.

Jeff came to PublicSource in May 2014. He’s covered gun violence, police technology and inequities in our region. He has built meaningful relationships in the Pittsburgh community, and his work has won multiple journalism awards.

Jeff has been helping to guide our newsroom coverage and oversee economic development coverage since October 2018.

Your calm resolve and warm “y’alls” will be truly missed.

We’re excited to say Jeff will be moving on to a new phase of his career in State College, where he has been living since mid-2020.

Thank you, Jeff, for your years of doggedness, thoughtfulness and patience.
