This week, we filed litigation against an Executive Order that would give states & cities the right to reject refugees.

** Welcome the stranger.
------------------------------------------------------------
At LIRS, our driving force is the Biblical mandate to “welcome the stranger.” When the Trump administration released an executive order that would make that difficult--if not impossible--we knew we had to take a stand. This week, we filed litigation alongside other faith-based organizations that challenges President Trump’s executive order giving state and local officials the authority to block refugee resettlement in their jurisdictions.
As Americans and as people of faith, will you support our struggle for justice?

** United in our values.
------------------------------------------------------------
This lawsuit will be championed by an interfaith coalition of Christians, Lutherans and Jews. In these divided times, we agree on so much -- not least of which is that refugees are welcome here. But if the administration has its way, communities who embrace the stranger may no longer be able to do so. Please consider supporting LIRS at this critical moment in our nation's history.

** Small dollars. BIG impact.
------------------------------------------------------------
Simply put, we want to help more refugees - and help refugees more. Your contribution, however small, makes a big difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. It provides them vital integration services and basic necessities upon their arrival, and it allows LIRS to stand up for the voiceless in the court of law. Will you make a big difference today?
