My mom taught me that if you have faith, anything is possible.
Earlier this week we announced our April fundraising goal: raise 7,500 grassroots contributions by the end of the month.
To be honest with you, we’re only 86% of the way there.
But after discussing this with the team, I told everyone that I trust our supporters to help us pull this off. Time after time, you’ve shown us your willingness to step up and fight for our bold, progressive dream for Kentucky.
My mom taught me that if you have faith just the size of a mustard seed, you can move a mountain. And I have faith that we can defeat Rand Paul and take back Kentucky for us all. But if we’re going to do this, I can’t do it alone.
Think about it this way: if 2 people from every zip code reading this email chipped in $5 — we can close a significant gap in our goal. Will you be the one from xxxxxx to step up and pitch in?

It’s important to me that I share with you exactly how your donation and the money from our April fundraising goal will be used.
I don’t take your generosity or money for granted — we’re putting every penny toward a movement that works for all of us.
This is how we’re going to invest your donation and win this U.S. Senate seat. (Usually, campaigns keep this kind of information close to the chest. But we’re not doing things the way they’ve always been done.)
- The primary: Our primary is on May 17th. Winning our primary is the first step in replacing Rand Paul and we want to make sure a record number of voters turn out for this election. It’s important we show our grassroots strength and send a clear signal that this progressive movement is rising up.
- Building the biggest grassroots organizing program ever in Kentucky: For too long, there’s been this myth that Kentucky is a red state. But it’s not. It’s an unorganized, disenfranchised, and exploited state. It’s one of the only states in the country with Republican senators and a Democratic governor. Where the number of people who don’t vote outnumber those who do. And when you look at recent political trends all the numbers show that the tides are turning: we have a real chance to elect bold progressive leadership in Kentucky and make history this election.
- Reaching out to voters from the hood to the holler: Building a winning movement means we need to mobilize voters in all 120 counties of Kentucky. This kind of widespread outreach is going to require significant investments in voter outreach, volunteer recruitment, and our digital strategy.
That’s why we set a goal to raise 7,500 grassroots donations by the end of the month. If we all chip in what we can — our campaign will have the funds to continue building this historic movement in Kentucky and transform our politics.
Will you be one of the supporters we need from xxxxxx to chip in even just $5 and close the gap on our goal?
We only have 1 more day to hit our goal. There is no time to lose.
Thank you,
Charles
