I'm coming to you with an urgent request...
Next month, Special Agent Eddie Valdivia will head into court.
He was wrongfully charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Felony Assault for defending himself from being hurt or killed by a mentally
deranged criminal in 2020.
Backed into a corner, Eddie had to use self-defense to prevent this repeat felon from punching him in the face and taking his service weapon where he
could have hurt other innocent people nearby.
Now, he might spend over a decade in prison for it... INSTEAD of the repeat felon who made the threat.
Will you help him afford the
best possible legal defense so he's not wrongfully convicted at his trial next month?

DEFEND SPECIAL AGENT EDDIE VALDIVIA
Early in the morning of December 15th, Eddie boarded the subway train station near his home to head into work in Washington D.C.
A few stops into Eddie's commute, a man named Steven Slaughter got on the train, sat next to him, and aggressively demanded that Eddie to give him
money.
Eddie refused - and Slaughter immediately started cursing him out and hurling racial insults.
Eventually, Slaughter calmed down - but only for a brief moment.
A few minutes later, Slaughter again confronted Eddie - and this time he was looking for a fight.
You see, Eddie Valdivia is expert when it comes to assessing threats.
As an experienced law enforcement agent, he recognized that he was about to be assaulted by a much larger man who may be under the influence of drugs.
He also knew that he was armed and, if he became incapacitated, he could be disarmed and killed.
With that in mind - and the fact that Slaughter had backed him into the corner of the train car - Eddie knew he would have to take action to
stop this possibly unstable convicted criminal from hurting him and perhaps others.
So, when Eddie realized that he was about to be assaulted by Slaughter, he pulled out his service weapon and fired three times.
As soon as the train stopped at the next station, they got off the train car and Eddie told a nearby witness to call 911 so that Slaughter could get
urgent medical help.
Even though Slaughter was hurt badly at the time, he was still able to walk off the train and has since recovered.
But the most shocking part of the entire incident happened a few days later when Eddie found out that he was charged with Attempted Second-Degree
Murder and felony assault.
Eddie had no choice but to defend himself when he was cornered and threatened by a deranged criminal - and yet somehow, he is the one who might spend
decades in prison for it.
That's why I'm asking for your help today.
In a few short weeks, Eddie will head into court for his trial. May 23rd to be exact.
And as we do with any wrongfully charged or accused officer, the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) is helping Eddie afford the best
attorneys, pay for the court fees, and make sure expert witnesses are there to clear his name.
In total, it's going to cost us close to $75,000.
That's why I'm asking you to
contribute just $25 or more to the LELDF today to help us cover Eddie's legal costs and make sure he isn't wrongfully convicted for this absurd
charge.

MAKE MY GIFT: DEFEND SA EDDIE VALDIVIA
Like I mentioned earlier, there is plenty of evidence to support what actually happened that morning.
There was even a witness on the train who saw this dangerous confrontation up close.
And never mind the fact that Eddie's attacker - Steven Slaughter - has been convicted at least nine times before with indecent exposure, drug
possession, assault, and resisting arrest.
Yet it's Eddie who might be locked up instead of this career criminal.
Friend, these are the moments when our nation's law enforcement officers need your help most.
The thin-blue line that protects our communities from violence and anarchy is under attack in America today.
From the anti-cop politicians slashing police budgets...
To the radical protesters burning down cities and chanting "DEFUND THE POLICE..."
To the progressive District Attorneys who are trying to lock up good cops and put violent criminals back on the streets...
"Backing the blue" isn't just about waving the thin-blue-line flag on your front porch or sharing your support for cops on social media...
It's helping good, honest, hard-working law enforcement officers like Special Agent Eddie Valdivia avoid being financially ruined or unjustly
convicted by anti-cop politicians, prosecutors, and bureaucrats.
And by helping good officers like Eddie avoid wrongful prosecution, you're helping them do the job they were trained to do and keep our communities
safe.
Please help us clear Special
Agent Eddie Valdivia's name by sending a tax-deductible gift of any amount today.
