Hello friends,

Something happened this past Sunday that distinguishes me from the other candidates in this Polk County Attorney race.

DSM SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) held a forum for all the Polk County Attorney candidates and I was the only candidate, Democrat or Republican, out of a field of four, that showed up.

I showed up.

This is a pattern. Organizations and individuals I’ve met with during this campaign often say we are the only campaign to reach out and listen to them.

Polk County, Iowa deserves a county attorney that will show up and listen, because leadership is as much listening as it is action. When we win, this will be **our** justice system. Not mine, but ours.  And how can that happen if the county attorney won’t show up and listen to you and others?

And please text or call every friend in your phone contacts who lives in Polk County. Tell them why this race is critical and why you’re supporting this campaign. Ask them to vote on June 7th.
