The Washington Metropolitan Area District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is pleased to announce its slate of Small Business Week Award winners for 2022. Honorees were chosen from each part of the District Office?s service territory, including the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Suburban Maryland (Montgomery County and Prince George?s County). Winners will be privately recognized during this year's National Small Business Week (NSBW), held from May 1 to May 7, 2022.

For over a half-century, the SBA has taken the opportunity to highlight the impact of small business owners and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week. This year?s activities include a four-day virtual summit, featuring business development workshops, access to critical federal resources, and commercial networking opportunities. ?I am excited not only to celebrate some our region?s most outstanding small businesses, but also give well-deserved recognition to those who support their success,? said District Director Larry G. Webb. ?While the resilience these companies have shown over the past two years is certainly a testament to their company?s leadership, it?s also indicative of the key role the federal government can play in helping to sustain small businesses everywhere.?

  • Tarandeep Bawa of ITegrity: Small Business Person of the Year ? Suburban Maryland (also named Statewide Maryland Winner) and Mid-Atlantic Region Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year
  • Jerry ?Jay? McCargo of ARServices: Small Business Person of the Year ? Northern Virginia
  • Necole Parker of The ELOCEN Group: 8(a) Graduate of the Year ? Washington Metropolitan Area (also named Mid-Atlantic Regional Winner and National Winner)
  • Brad Lewis of Hensel Phelps Construction Company: Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence ? Construction
  • Christine Nuessle of Bravium Consulting: Mid-Atlantic Region Small Business Subcontractor of the Year
  • Victor Hoskins and Karen Smaw of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority: Director?s Partnership Award
