Autism Acceptance Month is nearly over, but the festivities don’t have to stop!  We are honored and grateful to be a part of celebrating autistic culture and community. 

Here are the answers to the trivia questions from last week! 

1. Where can you sign up for our newsletter?

2. How many people are on staff? This doesn’t include the Board.
   Currently, we have 14 people on staff!

3. How long do we recommend an elevator speech be?
   Two minutes at most. You can read more here!

4. What is the name of our 2021 Annual Report?
   Our 2021 Annual Report is called “All Aboard!” and is train-themed!

5. What do you think of the new website?
   There are no wrong answers here - we hope you keep letting us know your thoughts and how we can make it even better!

Our community makes all our work possible. In the year since last Autism Acceptance Month, we’ve:

• Released eight different accessible toolkits and even more COVID-19 factsheets that ensure all people with disabilities have the tools we need to understand — and speak out about —  policy that affects our lives

• Joined COPAA, CommunicationFIRST and numerous individual families in signing a settlement agreement with Fairfax County, VA banning restraint and seclusion in all of its public schools

• Hosted a second virtual and fourteenth overall Autism Campus Inclusion (ACI) Leadership Academy for autistic college students on their way to becoming self-advocacy leaders on their campuses

• Advocated for the inclusion of the largest federal investment in critical home- and community-based services in the reconciliation budget bill
