Dear John,
Slaying the deficit will be a long fight, but the Debt Clock tour has been a great start.
Thousands of supporters like you chipped in to get the new National Debt Clock on the road and we’ve taken it right across Canada.
The Debt Clock stopped in 40 communities to show people the national debt going up in real time on huge video screens mounted on a moving van.
The Debt Clock certainly caught the media’s attention. We did close to 100 media interviews. The Debt Clock showed up on newscasts from Victoria to Halifax.
The Debt Clock even made it right to Parliament. Before that stop, we asked you what message you wanted delivered to Parliament. We got an earful and we took that message right to Parliament. We even brought the Debt Clock to the Prime Minister Office’s so Justin Trudeau could see the debt going up outside the window. You can check out the video HERE.
We know this is going to be a long hard fight. That’s the way it was in the 1990s. And that’s how it was when Ottawa started running deficits again in 2008. But everything worth doing takes hard work and the Debt Clock tour has been a great start.
You can keep the momentum going.
