A 600% increase on letters to the editor Indivisibles,
When we asked Indivisibles to focus their energy on sending letters to the editor(LTEs) about climate change and prescription drug prices last week, you responded spectacularly. We saw an over 600% increase in LTEs over the course of the week -- It is incredible what the energy of motivated Indivisibles can produce. You exceeded our expectations and set new limits for what we thought possible.
This week, we’re focused on calls. We’re hoping to see the same energy from Indivisibles across the country as we push President Biden to take bold action. Here are your actions:
- Click here to call the White House comment line and tell President Biden to lower prescription drug prices. One in four Americans struggles to afford their essential medications. We can not afford to wait for a legislative fix while Big Pharma lines its pockets! We need President Biden to use his existing authority to unilaterally lower drug prices right now while we continue to push for a more permanent legislative solution.
- If you live in a blue state, click here to call your senator and push them to tell Biden he must declare a National Climate Emergency. President Biden has narrowly invoked the Defense Production Act (DPA) -- one of the most important powers that can be invoked under a national emergency -- to increase production of mining in order to aid in the manufacturing of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. It is good that the administration has invoked the DPA, but this narrow focus is not enough to address the climate crisis. When you’re done calling your senator, click here to call your representative and tell them to encourage Biden to declare a National Climate Emergency.
- If you live in a red state, click here to demand that President Biden take action on climate. The climate crisis does not care if we live in a red state or a blue state. To make your voice heard, connect to the White House comment line directly and tell President Biden that we need immediate, bold action on climate.
The weather is warming up, and so are we. Now’s the time to get involved and make your voice heard pushing for bold action. And, to ensure we can keep working for a better tomorrow, donate here to support Indivisible and all of the work we do. Thank you for all of your writing last week. Let’s hop on those phones!
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
