4. FOX NEWS: Trump-backed
candidate rockets to front of NC GOP Senate primary
"U.S. Rep. Ted Budd, a Republican backed by former President
Donald Trump in North Carolina’s Senate race, is pulling ahead of
other GOP candidates in the polls for retiring Sen. Richard Burr’s
seat."
"'Now look, I voted for Pat McCrory in the past, but
not this time. Pat’s a nice guy, but he’s no conservative,' Robinson
says in the ad, calling Budd, a current U.S. House member, the
'principled, conservative choice for U.S. Senate.'
Robinson,
elected the state's first Black lieutenant governor in 2020, had
already announced his endorsement of Budd earlier this month at
Trump's rally in Johnston County, where the former president stumped
for Budd and other candidates in GOP races he had already
backed."
5. FOX NEWS: Disney, Pixar's
'Lightyear' sees same-sex kiss restored amid controversy with queer
character: report
"A first look at Disney and Pixar's 'Lightyear' on Wednesday
confirmed a same-sex kiss had been restored following recent
controversy.
The kiss occurred in the first 30 minutes of the
movie, which was shown to an audience Wednesday at CinemaCon,
according to USAToday.
The kiss was reportedly removed and
then reinstated after backlash over the lack of response from Disney
over Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' bill. The bill bars instruction on
sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through the
third grade."
WEEKLY PRAYER: OFFICIALS
LORD, we worship a mighty God who has the power to change
hearts and minds. We lean on you as we continue to fight for the
values we hold dear. Give our leaders Your wisdom—and courage to live
it out.
Specifically, Lord, we thank you for the courageous leader and
bold witness we have in Lt. Governor, Mark Robinson. Lord, protect him
and his family, and continue to guide his life and his witness on your
behalf. We praise you that his heart is filled with your Holy Spirit
and his life is dedicated to truth. Please send more like him,
Lord.
"But for you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, and endurance and gentleness.
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to
which you were called when you made your good confession in the
presence of many witnesses....Guard what has been entrusted to your
care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is
falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing
have departed form the faith. Grace be with you all." 1 Timothy
