Team—
If the U.S. Supreme Court were to overturn Roe v. Wade, millions of people seeking abortion care across the United States, from Alabama to Idaho and Arizona to Ohio, would be forced to go to inordinate lengths to receive the essential care they need.
This could soon be the reality many have to face as the Supreme Court is poised to rule in our case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization—a case where we're defending the right to abortion under the U.S. Constitution.
These are our rights that hang in the balance, right now. This is our fight.
Please make a gift of $35 or more by April 30, and a Center supporter will make it go 4x as far matching your gift 3:1.
If the Supreme Court overturns Roe, half the states in the country are poised to ban abortion entirely.
What would accessing care look like if your state banned abortion?
Short of banning abortion outright, states might also continue to institute a laundry list of medically unnecessary restrictions that make accessing abortion care even more difficult—including restrictions on medication abortion and telemedicine.
Forcing people to travel out of state to access abortion care requires time off work, money for travel and accommodations, and/or childcare, creating further obstacles and pushing essential health care out of reach for many.
If Roe falls, this devastating possibility—already a reality in some states—could also become a reality for people seeking care in up to 25 states across the country.
This is our fight. We'll continue to fight in state and federal courts to build, defend, and enforce abortion rights and access. Beyond the courts, we will protect abortion access in the U.S. through state legislation and state ballot initiatives and with federal legislation such as the Women's Health Protection Act. But we need your help.
Donate right now and your gift will be MATCHED $3 for every $1, up to $50,000. Please help defend abortion access for all.
Onward,
Center for Reproductive Rights
