Learn about population pyramids with PopEd
[[link removed]]
“Population pyramids” are age-sex distribution graphs that depict a population’s demographic structure. Though many such graphs are shaped like pyramids (such as when a population is growing), not all are. Population pyramids are useful for examining historical and current population trends, as well a studying future demographic changes.
PopEd’s pyramid activities enable students to create age-sex distribution graphs for a variety of country structures and interpret the demographic trends they see. Learn more about this useful visual tool and lesson plans that help students understand these graphs on PopEd's website!

The third session of our Demography Series takes place on Wednesday, May 4th at 3pm ET/4pm PT. This session defines the demographic dividend and explores how it can be harnessed in ways that promote socio-economic advancement.
Slowing population growth by increasing access to comprehensive reproductive health care, voluntary family planning, and education—especially for women and girls—is necessary for achieving the demographic dividend. Join us next week to learn more!
