Support Our Mission:
Champions Tell Their Stories Live on Social Media WomenHeart is sharing the stories of women with heart disease. Through live interviews with WomenHeart Champions on Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, CEO Celina Gorre asks Champions to share advice and provide inspiration to other women. After a series of interviews in February as part of our #29DaysofHeart campaign, earlier this week Celina interviewed Champion Michelle Sheely in recognition of National Minority Health Month. You can watch all past live streams on YouTube. And tune in this Thursday, May 5 at 12:30pm ET for an interview in honor of Mother’s Day with Champion Lori Wood and her adult daughter, speaking about the importance of sharing your family heart history.
Cardiac Yoga Recordings Now Available Through February and March, WomenHeart hosted a six-week yoga class over Zoom designed specifically for heart patients. Classes were led by instructors from the Prema Yoga Institute who were trained in a program that was developed with cardiologists from the Northwell Health Network. Practiced primarily in a chair, the classes require no previous yoga experience and are intended to help with stress reduction, alignment and mobility, and meditation and restorative postures. All the classes are now available on WomenHeart’s YouTube channel.
