At WCV we want to see a healthy environment and thriving communities. And that goes beyond just passing strong environmental policies.

To reach that vision we must start with addressing systems where people have been denied the right to vote, where environmental racism has been ingrained in our policies, and where marginalized communities have been underrepresented in elected positions.

As an organization we are always working with partners to expand the right to vote and make voting easier because we know that when more people vote the environment wins.

More active and engaged voters will also lead to better representation for communities that in the past have been locked out of decisions. We must elect more candidates who intimately know the needs of their communities and are accountable to those communities.

Our state is only going to be as strong as the democracy we build to support it. That is why our democracy and voting rights work is central to our work.
