John,
Christian Nationalist leader Tony Spell revealed on a public broadcast what this radical, right-wing movement believes:
“It should be in the United States of America: the prophet, the priests, the prince, and the people. … Well, today everything is upside down. You have the people controlling the government, the government controlling the priests who have silenced the prophets.”
This is why they’re organizing pastors to run for office, and mobilize their congregations. They believe they’re in a spiritual war and won’t stop until their prophets and pastors reign supreme.
Don’t fool yourself into thinking this is only a fringe movement. According to research by sociology professor Andrew Whitehead, an estimated 30 million Americans strongly embrace Christian Nationalism.
To stop these extreme, right-wing zealots, we must meet our goal of 100 donors by tomorrow’s midnight deadline, and we’re still short. Will you help?

Your support will fuel the Center for Freethought Equality’s midterm-year efforts to:
- Recruit, support, and help elect candidates who will champion humanist values. Elected officials like Megan Hunt in Nebraska, who recently thwarted a state-level abortion ban;
- Fight back against all efforts that misuse religion to incite political violence, like our work supporting elected officials like Jamie Raskin (D-MD) who both sits on the January 6 Committee and the Congressional Freethought Caucus;
- Represent the voice of atheists and humanists, a growing group of concerned Americans whose views are not represented well in our government, and who believe in a safer, saner, more secular government;
Christian Nationalists are working overtime. We can’t stop them without your help. With less than 48-hours before our deadline tomorrow night, will you help meet our 100 donor goal?
Donate $10, $15, or $25 to help defend our democracy and secular government from Christian Nationalist extremism.
Thanks for all you do.
