Hi there,

Welcome to our latest edition of our NAAC e-alert. We have great opportunities for music, dance and cricket enthusiasts...Yes cricket too! Our Bollywood classes are back with Vrundadevi, from 6:00pm every Wednesday. Please let your friends and family know about the classes. 

NAAC is pleased to announce that the All Stars Cricket & Dynamos Cricket training for children will be starting at Radford Academy from Wednesday 11 May. We hope to see you all at the classes/training...

Due to funding cuts, NAAC is looking for sponsors to support its sustainability and would welcome anyone wanting to sponsor our events, classes, etc. Please get in touch with us if you can help!

Mrs Verma

The High Sherriff of Nottinghamshire Professor Harminder Singh Dua, presented the High Sherriff Award to Mrs Jai Verma, Chairperson of Kavya Rang and the Director of Nottingham Asian Arts Council on 23rd March 2022 in recognition of great and valuable services to the community. The award also recognizes the appreciation of the residents and people of the said High Sherriff's county for activity and contribution in enhancing the life of the community. 

Also as part of marking Shahidi Day at the Nottingham Indian Centre noted poet and writer Mrs Jai Verma received a commendation from the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, professor Harminder Singh Dua CBE in recognition of her work in literature and community engagement": words and images by Matt Turpin and Eleanor Flowerday for Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature.

Nottingham Asian Arts Association (NAAC) Music & Dance Academy aspires to promote and support South Asian Arts through arranging and promoting a wide range of workshops for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

The Academy is a centre of excellence with tutors who are of high calibre, professional and specialist with years of experience in delivering quality classes in vocal, music and dance.

So whether you want to keep fit with Bollywood Zumba, learn how to dance or learn a musical instrument for fun, as a hobby, or want to achieve and pass grades, we can tailor our music, vocal and dance tuition to meet your needs.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have a few remaining *fully funded* places on both All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket for summer 2022 for boys and girls!

Her Lohri Project - Saturday 7 May 2022

The Her Lohri Project is facilitating a Sukhmani Sahib event to pray for peace on the planet and to raise the profile of women and girls in the world.

The paath, kirtan, ardas and all seva will all be performed by females to highlight the role of women in Sikhi.

This uplifting event is open to all so join us and come along - please bring your family and friends too!

There will be information stalls and langar will be served throughout.

Inspired by Akram Khan’s Olivier Award winning solo show XENOS, *"Chotto Xenos"* is a captivating dance production that takes young audiences back in time, exploring the often forgotten and untold stories of World War One colonial soldiers, through dance, film and touching storytelling.

Wollaton Arts Festival Finale

Sunday 26 June 2022, 1pm - 5pm

On Sunday 26 June 2022, in the grounds of Wollaton Hall & Deer Park (1pm to 5pm) will be the Wollaton Arts Festival Finale - which will aim to bring all members of the community together especially our diverse communities to a FREE family fun day with live performances, arts activities/workshops and showcasing activities in the area. NAAC will be showcasing their students' performances from the  Music & Dance Academy from 11am to 12noon at the finale...look forward to seeing you all there.
